(FYI,  Carla Fiandt will be on vacation,  Kevin Dreibelbis can not be there.)  discussion last held

was a concern for Senior Citizens.  Places for them to go and activities to do.  Kevin Dreibelbis

expressed  his confusion for the afternoon session although he thought the morning session

was great.  Next step is to meet in groups and go over topics already discussed

The Cougar Closet:  Will open just before  school starts.  After school has started the teachers

and  school nurse will contact us with needs.

Chain O Lakes Festival:  Police thought the area was ideal  due to the security. Vendors loved it.

There was a lot of good input although the attendance was poor. Maybe because it was

vacation time, the cost of gas, economy and the town square construction.

On the square project is ahead of schedule reported by Sharon.

Studio Christian Youth Center Inc:  Pastor Sheffield reported they are now at the Total

Image building and focused on 6th thru 12th grade and open 3 Hrs—2days  & 4 Hrs—1 day.

They are  looking for a full time director in the next 6 months. Currently all volunteers working

at The Studio. Of those attending The Studio 11 have no mother,  17 have no father,  14 live

below poverty, and 81 will graduate.  The Studio offers hope, compassion & Christ.  They teach

Gods word in fun ways. They try to get the word out that they need to pray.  Right now they

have 20 active volunteers and need more.  They also need financial help.

Pastor Sheffield would like to work with Drug Free N.C. twice a year,  and with Leap during the

School year.  Also would like to work w/The Bowen Center.  They will be having a board

meeting tomorrow evening.  Right now they would like to have Seniors  volunteer to help the

kids at the Studio.

The Studio receives money from individuals, grants & churches.  Insurance issues do not allow

anyone else to use the facility.

The budget for The Studio is as follows:  $25,000  w/o director for insurance, rent,

maintenance,  upkeep.  $50,000 to $55000 w/ director.  They need $650.00 a month donation

to  meet expenses of rent ($2000.)& utilities.
