Albion Chamber of Commerce to hold workshop follow up meeting

The Albion Chamber of Commerce will be holding workshop follow-up meeting on Wednesday, June 25th at 5:00 p.m. at the Library (downstairs). The instructors are Angie Blevins and Mary Beth Parsons will be there.

The purpose is to wrap up the workshop information that was held recently and come to some conclusions of projects that are going to be addressed. If you didn't attend the workshop that is okay. Please come to this meeting to help with preparations for these projects.

Albion Chamber to open "The Cougar Closet"

The Albion Chamber of Commerce with the assistance of community volunteers will be opening a clothing, shoe, book and school supply center before the start of school in August. The Central Noble School Board has granted the Chamber space in their newly purchased building. The space will be provided to the Chamber free gratis by the CN School Board.

The Cougar Closet will carry the above for preschool through middle school children. The Clothing, shoes, boots and children's books will be new/gently used items. There will be no charge to the recipients.

The committee will be looking for: new or gently used shoes and boots - any size, children's books, new school supplies - pencils, paper, glue, crayons, book bags, etc. Other items needed are - tables, shelves, clothing racks and clothes hangers.

Volunteers to man the closet are also needed. Please call Phyllis Herendeen, Chamber President, at 636-2748 if you are willing to help or to donate.

Hours of operation - initially the center will be open one day per week and one Saturday per month. The day and times will be determined and adjusted to fill the need.
